A 3 day epic weekend getaway in the Big Apple.
1:00 PM - Night Hotel
We landed in La Guardia airport and took a cab ride to the Night Hotel. A small hotel that for what it lacks in size it makes up for in location. The hotel is right next to Times Square.
5:00 PM - Sixty Five Lounge (Rainbow Room)
After freshening up and changing we made our way to Sixty-Five Lounge. Bought two glasses of champagne and took in the city lights.
7:00 PM- Times Square
We had dinner reservation for Michelin Star restaurant Nomad later in the night. With some free time, we decided to walk and take in the night lights of Times Square. We couldn’t help ourselves and grabbed a slice of famous New York style pizza.
9:00 PM- Nomad Restaurant
After a couple of hours passed, we made our way to Nomad to enjoy their famous chicken dish, and milk and honey dessert. We contemplated some nightlife but resigned ourselves to the fact that we were done and skipped the late-night party and went to bed.
9:00 AM- Central Park
Early to rise (well for vacation time) we had an entire day to explore New York. Our first destination was, of course, Central Park. On our walk to the park we had a quick breakfast. We walked all the way to the park enjoying the different scenery. The park was beautiful, and it was nice to connect and talk.
11:00 AM - The Metropolitan Museum of Art
We made our way to the art gallery and saw some beautiful exhibits. Everything from fashion to a history in wine (which seemed like fate).
1:00 PM - Eataly
We ubered to Eataly to enjoy a meal and buy some fantastic produce. Probably one of my favourite places in New York; expect wonderful meals and great foodie finds!
3: 00 PM - Rest
Essential on all trips.
6:00 PM - 48 Lounge
We couldn't come to New York and not enjoy the nightlife. We choose 48 Lounge, and the DJ did not disappoint; there was no time to sit as we danced to every song!
We walked back to the Night Hotel (did I mention how great the location is) and passed out.
10: 00 AM- Grimaldi's Pizza
Sunday was our last day, but we had all day as our flight was in the evening. We went to Grimaldi pizza spot to enjoy some pizza.
Then we took an uber to Highline to enjoy the beauty and calm in the city. We didn’t expect such a spot in NY.
We then made our way to the airport and flew back to Toronto. This was a great weekend. Chic, fun and expensive (lol), but worth it! There is truly no place like New York!
