My Work in Dementia Research and Care

After taking care of my grandmother, who declined quickly with Dementia, I became a champion in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other forms of Dementia. I am currently working on an groundbreaking Dementia care App, It Takes a Village, iTAV that will use AI technology to provide person-centred care using a proprietary dementia-care mapping technique. I am to provides the most vulnerable people, and their caregivers, with the opportunity to build a rich and fulfilling life.  As we get closer to the app launch exciting things are happening on the Baycrest campus. Baycrest Health Sciences is a global leader in geriatric residential living, healthcare, research, innovation and education, with a special focus on brain health and aging. I have been working as a research assistant at Baycrest who became the first to fund iTAV. Check out my feature with Baycrest’s next chapter series below and remember to donate.

Now this was a surprise; a campus wrap that was little larger than life. I am proud of my work so far irrespective of the difficulties to get this far and I am excited for my next chapter in the fight against Dementia. The next chapter will be active; using technology, media and communities to build better lives for aging adults. Cognitive decline affects us all, we need everyone and it will take a village (iTAV).
