Chanile Vines works to help others lead rich and fulfilling lives, both in her work providing Dementia care to clients at Baycrest Health Sciences and as the founder of Vinesplay, an event and marketing agency specializing in the wine industry. In her volunteer work with the Dementia Helpline, she assists caregivers with a person-centred approach to building a care plan. Chanile is building a groundbreaking Dementia Care App, It Takes a Village (Link if applicable). She has her Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 1 & 2 Awards, a Post Graduate Marketing Certification from The University of Toronto, and will earn her MSc. in Psychology from The University of Liverpool.
Chanile Vines is the founder of Vinesplay, an event and marketing agency specializing in the wine industry. Praised as a community builder, for sharing her passion with clients, and supporting small winery owners, her joy for making wine appreciation accessible to everyone is contagious. Angela says her guests, “can’t stop raving about the experience” with Vinesplay. Chanile’s sense of wanderlust and love of wine paired with her educational background in marketing service and psychology make her a triple threat for anyone with a thirst for higher spirit knowledge. Chanile’s personal motto is to provide an enriching space for businesses and people to grow, connect, and have fun. She has her Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET®) Level 1 & 2 Awards in Wines, earned her BSc. In Psychology from The University of Toronto, a Post Graduate Marketing Certification from The University of Toronto and will graduate with her MSc. in Psychology from The University of Liverpool in 2019. Chanile is the President of the Ontario Wine Society, Toronto Chapter. After taking care of her grandmother, who declined quickly with Dementia, Chanile Vines became a champion in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other forms of Dementia. Chanile is building a groundbreaking Dementia care App, It Takes a Village, iTAV to provide person-centred care using a proprietary dementia-care mapping technique that provides the most vulnerable people, and their caregivers, with the opportunity to build a rich and fulfilling life. With a strong background as a distress counsellor and in Dementia care, Chanile brings her expertise and dedication to Baycrest Health Sciences where she works as a Research Assistant and Foundation Event Coordinator. In her research, Chanile aims to understand and facilitate support for both clients experiencing the changes that come with aging, and their caregivers. In her volunteer work with the Dementia Helpline as a Dementia Caregiver and Senior Support Counsellor (LINK HERE) she assists caregivers in developing a person-centred approach to building a care plan. Chanile earned her BSc. in Psychology at The University of Toronto and her MSc. in Psychology from The University of Liverpool. Chanile’s research has been published in The Journal of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, and the Alzheimer’s Research UK Blog.
